Our Background
Blue Sky, Inc. was founded in 2003 by Steven Schmit. Steven has over twenty years' experience in the human services field. He worked for six years as a case manager for Hennepin County and for nine years supervising case managers for Hennepin County prior to founding Blue Sky Support Services. Steven has a Master's Degree in Social Work and uses his fresh perspective and enthusiasm to create innovative services options for people with disabilities. He has both field and supervisory experience in working with individuals with various disabilities. Steven is motivated and inspired by the positive results he has seen that services have on the individuals he serves and the community.
Blue Sky Inc. (BSI) is licensed 245D by the Department of Human Services to provide waivered services. It is a “person-centered” company, that in partnership with the consumer, strives to attain the individuals’ desired future.
